Up for sale is a 1969 Gibson EB-3 in good condition with some vintage character and nearly 60 years of history. This bass has been well loved and played, but remains in great shape for its age. It features a beautiful deep, dark walnut finish that I haven’t seen on many EB-3s and gives it an awesome vintage look.
It has recently been professionally serviced, restrung, and set up. The neck pickup and wiring harness were replaced with era-correct parts, including pots dating to 1970. Original pots were dated 1969. I still have the original parts, which were swapped because the rotary switch wasn’t working, as well as the neck pickup want getting signal. Although I believe both can be repaired. If interested in the originals, let me know and we can work something out. The bridge may have been upgraded several decades ago, which was quite common and for the better.
The bass has some small nicks, honest playwear, and couple light hairline cracks, as shown in photos. Nothing that affects playability or function. Some people pay extra for "relic" features.
The EB-3 is a legendary Gibson bass played by some of rock’s biggest names, including Jack Bruce of Cream, Bill Wyman of The Rolling Stones, and Bob Daisley of Ozzy Osbourne.
A killer piece of Gibson history with tons of vintage mojo, character, and classic EB-3 tone.
Comes with Fender gigbag.
