Mint rare 90’s Purple Audio MC76, one of the most sought-after alternatives to the vintage 1176. Unlike later, MC77, the early MC76 was built around the original 1176LN-E philosophy and incorporated genuinely premium, hard-to-source components—including an Allen-Bradley input attenuator and UTC input transformer, along with discrete transistor circuitry and a custom output transformer. These component choices are a huge part of what makes the early MC76 desirable: it delivers the fast, aggressive FET compression and unmistakable transformer character of the classic 1176 while retaining the build quality and consistency Purple Audio became known for. A genuinely rare piece of analog studio history and an increasingly difficult unit to find in this condition. Will only continue to increase in value.
