From my studio, this excellent-condition under-rated vintage mic has not been used since the early 80's and was stored away. Recently refurbished with new foam and a brand new-in-box-still $20 battery... and also fully tested, this is a classic "1st generation" 1979/1980 Electro-Voice PL76 condenser microphone known for smooth 50Hz - 20kHz frequency response and warm vocal tone.

Microphone:

• Maintenance: The headbasket has been safely opened and meticulously cleaned. I replaced the foam inside with exact and correct replacement from a pro audio dealer, so it is brand new. I tested output and continuity with a multi-meter. It reads at 37.7 ohms.
• Cosmetics: The metal handle finish and "Memraflex" grille are clean and in great vintage shape. There is some minor paint loss, mostly at plug end. Very clean inside, no corrosion in battery compartment.
• Case/Clip: Comes with the original EV brown zippered mic case and its original EV mic clip (I found it!).
• Status: Refurbished, tested, and 100% operational. 1st generation PL76 w/ recessed on/off switch. New unused and sealed Excell 4.5v battery (just bought).
• Capsule Performance: Delivers the classic, warm, and clear unidirectional cardioid pickup pattern that made this a secret weapon in late-70s broadcast and studio booths.
• Powering: Original battery was kept and will be included for posterity. Also included is a new boxed high-quality correct replacement Exell 4.5v battery. But you could also convert to 48v phantom power for full-time studio use.
