FEEL FREE TO REACH OUT TO DRAGGIN' GUITARS in Lawrence KS with ANY questions, or to just chat about the guitar.

Talk about a rare vintage guitar!  Well, maybe you weren't-but we can do that now, if that is ok with you..

This guitar steals the show wherever it goes.  Nothing is as sharp as a Jetglo Black Gloss Rickenbacker and this one has 12-strings screaming out to remind everyone that this is a SOLIDBODY!   This 450/12 model was produced at the Rickenbacker factory in Santa Ana, California U.S.A. in Early 1966.   It is 100% original and in excellent condition.  The guitar was obviously well cared for its entire life and looks killer to this day.  Draggin' Guitars has carefully inspected and fully verified the guitars authenticity.   The Ricky has been professionally set up and it is ready to go-it needs nothing.

The body is the unique 450-shaped 'double-cutaway' that features a vintage full slab-style edge.  The Jetglo Black Gloss finish is clean and provides a nice reflective surface that contrasts nicely with the large white pickguard.  The backside is as clean as the front.  The top and bottom edge are lightly contoured for additional comfort on the back.   Overall-the body exhibits minor handling evidence-just a few small chips on the backside edges-see photos.  The set-neck design provides a nice and clean neck pocket with a perfect fitment.

The neck itself is smooth and straight.  The finish is clean on the neck and it has a nice smooth feel.  The neck profile is best described as a Slim-C shape.  It measures .845" deep at the 1st fret and .890" deep at the 12th fret.  The nut measures 1.60" wide.  The scale length is 24.75" with a 7.25" fingerboard radius.  The 450/12 model features a narrow string-spacing that provides the easiest and maybe the most maneuverable 12-string playability ever-especially for chords and standard fretting.  The original nickel Kluson tuners all function.  The headstock and logo display great-just look at it.  So iconic.  The African Rosewood fingerboard is clean and smooth.  The position markers are easily visible.  The frets have been leveled, crowned and polished and they appear near new condition-see photos.  The action is nice and low for an easy playing experience.  The string height measures .010" at the 1st fret and .060" at the 12th fret.  If you prefer a higher action, the bridge is easily adjustable.  As it is, the guitar plays great up and down the fingerboard-it plays like butter!

The original Toaster pickups have an excellent signal and balance.  The tone is the classic Rickenbacker Jangle, Chime and Brilliance with a nice low end push.  The neck pickup measures 7.63 ohms and the bridge measures 7.70 ohms.  The controls all function smoothly and quietly.  The wiring harness is in excellent condition.  The original potentiometers all date to the 7th week of 1966.  Inside the control cavity, the factory tape relief displays "450-12-J" in handwritten marker.

The guitar is lots of fun to play and it is very comfortable.  Its compact size and shape make for an easy playing experience.  The guitar is incredibly lightweight-it only weighs 6.91 lbs... You can play this guitar all night long and feel fresh-forget about back and shoulder pain, you can kiss that trash goodbye.   This is easily the best 12-string solid body ever made, that's not really an opinion.  This is a very rare vintage guitar in a rare finish-that's a fact.

The original silver hard case is included for protection and good feelings.
