A modern Yamaha bass combining exotic wood styling, versatile tone shaping, and comfortable everyday playability.

• Exotic mango wood top adds distinctive visual depth and character
• P/J pickup configuration delivers versatile tonal flexibility across multiple styles
• Fast comfortable maple neck improves overall playability
• Modern TRBX body contours improve balance and long-session comfort
• Dependable Yamaha construction designed for consistent everyday use

The Yamaha TRBX174EW builds on the comfort and versatility of the TRBX platform while introducing a more distinctive visual identity through its exotic mango wood top. Designed for players who want modern playability with added visual character, the TRBX174EW combines Yamaha reliability, balanced ergonomics, and flexible tone shaping in a highly approachable bass platform.

Its P/J pickup configuration blends the warmth and punch of a split-coil neck pickup with the articulation and definition of a single-coil bridge pickup, giving players access to a wide range of usable tones suited for rock, pop, funk, indie, and everyday practice. The straightforward control layout also keeps operation intuitive and accessible for developing bass players learning how to shape tone and dynamics.

The lightweight mahogany body provides balanced resonance and comfortable weight distribution, while Yamaha’s aggressive TRBX body contours improve ergonomics during longer rehearsals, lessons, and playing sessions. Combined with the slim maple neck, the TRBX174EW feels fast, comfortable, and easy to navigate for newer players while still offering enough versatility for long-term growth.

The Tobacco Brown Sunburst finish gives the TRBX174EW a warmer vintage-inspired appearance with rich brown tonal transitions that highlight the natural character of the mango wood top beneath the translucent finish. Its darker outer edges and amber center pair naturally with the aggressive TRBX contours and chrome hardware, creating a bass that feels timeless, expressive, and visually distinctive while still maintaining Yamaha’s modern design language.
