Zildjian 18” Z Custom Crash Cymbal
Weight 1500 grams
The 18" Zildjian Z Custom Crash is a medium-weight, high-volume crash cymbal designed for drummers who need maximum projection and cutting power. Part of the reintroduced Z Custom series, it is aimed at hard rock, metal, punk, and other loud musical styles where cymbals must stand out over heavily amplified instruments.
Key specifications
- Diameter: 18" (45.72 cm)
- Weight: Medium
- Material: Cast B20 bronze alloy
- Finish: Brilliant
- Hammering: Classic Z Custom star-pattern hammering
- Made in: USA
- Series: Z Custom
Sound characteristics
- Bright, aggressive attack
- Explosive crash with excellent projection
- Long sustain
- Powerful, cutting high frequencies
- Strong enough for heavy stick work without losing clarity
Compared to the original 1990s/2000s Z Customs, the current version is slightly lighter, making it more responsive while retaining the signature loud, cutting character. This gives it a bit more musicality without sacrificing durability or volume.
