The Danelectro Dan-Echo (DE-1) is a popular, heavy-duty digital delay pedal released in the 1990s. It is designed to emulate the warm, organic sound of vintage tube-driven and 1960s-era tape echoes using a specialized internal digital chip combined with a high-cut filter. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]Key Features and Controls
- Mix Knob: Adjusts the balance between your dry guitar signal and the wet delay effect.
- Speed Knob: Controls the overall delay time.
- Repeats Knob: Sets the amount of feedback or how many times the echo repeats.
- Hi-Cut Knob: The standout feature that rolls off high frequencies on each successive repeat, simulating the dark, fading decay of a classic tape machine.
- Lo-Hi Switch: Toggles between short (slapback) and long delay ranges for solos or atmospheric styling. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
