Offered for sale is my 2025 Gibson Custom Shop 1942 Banner LG-2 Reissue in Vintage Sunburst uniquely set with Advanced Jumbo inlays and Script Headstock Gibson logo, complete with the original Gibson Custom Shop hardshell case and case candy.

This guitar sounds so open and loud for its size. The aged Adirondack top really makes a difference. It has that dry woody sound that just projects beautifully. It articulates notes very well but it is honestly just as beautiful to strum

chords. The neck is fast and not bulky at all. Historic LG-2 neck profile is definitely not the same as an historic J-45 baseball bat neck, which I’m personally not a fan of. I understand Andirondack more than I ever have now.

This is Gibson’s faithful recreation of the legendary wartime Banner LG-2, built with premium materials and vintage-inspired construction. The standout feature is the thermally aged (torrefied) Adirondack red spruce top, a process that replicates many of the tonal characteristics of decades-old wood. Combined with solid mahogany back and sides, hide-glue construction, and traditional Banner-era bracing, the result is an instrument that is remarkably open, responsive, and resonant.

The guitar has an incredibly fast attack, exceptional note separation, and a dry, woody vintage character that makes every note feel immediate. It excels at fingerstyle, flatpicking, blues, folk, Americana, and singer-songwriter accompaniment.

One of the things I love most about this LG-2 is how alive it feels under your hands. Notes leap off the guitar with very little effort, making melodic playing and intricate picking incredibly satisfying. It also records beautifully, sitting naturally in a mix without excessive EQ, and its focused midrange allows vocals to shine without competing with an oversized low end.

Rather than producing the booming bass of a larger dreadnought, the LG-2 delivers the articulate, balanced voice that made the original Banner guitars favorites of working musicians and recording artists. If you’re after an authentic vintage Gibson sound with modern reliability, this guitar delivers.
