This pedal combines two things dear to my heart - Theremin and zombies, so if you have an unfinished soundtrack for a sci-fi horror film lying around, it's time to blow the dust off it and get back to work! :D

Zombie Vox is a guitar to theremin simulator with its characteristic slides, vibratos and  howls. And, with the ability to mix in a background fuzz or direct signal!

Regarding the tone itself, the pedal's fuzz section has a rather distinctive, highly compressed, smooth, and almost synth-like sound. The theremin simulator is naturally monophonic (like the original theremin), so it tracks best with individual notes. When playing chords, it begins to howl chaotically, (which also sounds quite atmospheric and threatening. :), the notes flow smoothly from one to another, and partially live their own life in the form of vibrato and octave jumps. Especially in the first part of the neck and around the low E.

Sooooo.. here is the ZombieVox V2!!!

It took more than a year to create the 2nd version of ZombieVox and finally… ITS ALIVE!!!

What's new?

*The most important and fundamental update is - I, (and I'm not afraid to say it), INVENTED a new filtration/tracking system! It allows the pedal to much better recognize and track notes and turn them into sepulchral sounds! Of course, for best results, accurate playing is still encouraged - basically that’s true for all pedals with analog note tracking, especially in the first half of the neck, but now the pedal will do most of the work for you!

* I taught the pedal new sounds! The theremin can now play along with you not only at the original pitch or an octave higher, but you can also mix these voices in different proportions, saturating and thickening the timbre and making it more vintage-analog-synthy like.

* You can now choose between mixing the theremin sound with fuzz or clean signal!

Controls

Vol - effect volume

Mix - the mix between the theremin and fuzz/direct signal sounds

Tone - theremin tone adjustment, smoothly transitioning between octaves and creating additional sound textures

Fuzz – switching between fuzz and direct signal

Sens – the tracking system sensitivity

A few words about the new tracking system.  The main aim was to get a better tracking of the notes in the first part of the neck. And that’s quiet a tough challenge, especially with analog circuitry. The first thing that I figured – each instrument behaves differently so I made the Sens knob to fine tune the filtering/tracking. Sens knob sets the boarder for virtually dividing the fretboard into two ranges - low and high. If the input note is below this boarder, then additional filtering is automatically turned on, making it easier to track low notes. And by the way, when this system is activated, the LED changes color, so you can tune it not only by ear, but also visually.

I know that it all sounds a bit complicated, but its actually way easier when you have the pedal in front of you.

So anyways - I did my best shot and now it works way smoother than the v1 and still keeps some of the fun craziness  :D

True bypass switching; Topside jacks

No provision for battery power; DC operation only; 9v center negative (standard for most pedals)
