Sugi is a brand founded by Mr. Sugimoto, a legend who has supported Japanese guitar making for many years.

They manufacture high-quality guitars and basses in Nagano Prefecture, and are highly regarded by many musicians.

Their basses are known to be favored by musicians such as Hojin Egawa and Mike Porcaro of TOTO.

This model is the Sugi flagship model, the NB5.

The body top is Claro Walnut, and the back is Honduras Mahogany.

The fingerboard is Riogrande Palisander.

While showcasing Sugi's characteristic use of distinctive woods, the deep brown color gives it a calm and sophisticated appearance.

The neck is a laminated type with a Timeless Timber Maple core.

This technique of laminating multiple pieces of wood to create the neck reduces left-right and individual differences, resulting in greater stability.

The pickup is a Sugi SB-84WP.

The hardware is GOTOH, but these are custom-made by Sugi and optimized for this bass.

Despite being a 24-fret bass, the sound is not overly tight, and is characterized by its open resonance.

For fingerstyle playing, it has a good balance of fullness and definition, and for slap playing, the clarity and wide range feel very pleasing.

This is a bass that clearly demonstrates Sugi's meticulous craftsmanship and modern practicality.

The frets have approximately 80% remaining.

The truss rod is in good condition.

The neck is in good condition.

The body and paintwork have some minor scratches, but are generally clean. There is one paint chip on the side of the body and one near the neck pocket.

Instruments purchased from our store are eligible for lifetime free "String Vibration Setup" (normally ¥4,400). (Reservation required)

●Defect Warranty

Basic Co., Ltd. provides a warranty against defects for products sold by the company. The warranty period is 3 months for used products and 1 year for new products.
