A quality Les Paul, with none of the flashy aesthetics. This guitar was purchased after many years of trying to find the right Les Paul for me, something that felt big and loud, punchy and aggressive, and was very visceral to play. Due to the satin finish, the guitar seems to resonate much more against your body, which gives that sense of being more in tune with the instrument.
This was purchased from new, and been with me the entire time. It's suffered from the usual wear and tear, mainly on the contact points, but there are a few scrapes and dings, all visible in the photos. The main ones are on the back by the control cavity and by the top strap pin. Feel free to request more photos if needed.
The guitar is mainly stock, Mahogany body and neck, with Kluson Deluxe tuners, Gibson Burstbucker Pro pickups, and a black pickguard (removed in the photos, but will be included). It is a weight relieved guitar, but still weighs around 3.7Kg (7.8lbs). It also includes the original Gibson gig bag (not the modern leather one, but the earlier lined Studio bag). There are Schaller locking strap pins installed, and I will include a set of the strap locks themselves (though they are black, rather than the chrome on the guitar, which will obviously make the tone darker). I will also include some standard strap pin (though not 100% if they are the originals as I replaced them some time ago).
The fretboard, I believe, is Baked Maple. This guitar would have been manufactured around the time Gibson's Rosewood supply was seized and their production shifted over. By the appearance and feel, I would say that makes sense. However, I'm not 100% on this, as the spec when the guitar was sold to me at the store stated it was Rosewood. This could easily have been an error on their part, or perhaps this was one of the few Rosewood 2012 models to make it through. My opinion would be on Baked Maple, but if this is something you'd like to evaluate further, I can attempt to get some more up close photos for you to decide for yourself.
The wiring has been altered from stock. Originally, this model had PCB wiring, but this has been changed for a 'Spin-a-split' wiring system. With this, the two tone controls act as variable coil splits, allowing you to essentially roll off excess bass and get you a single coil tone. This can be done in varying amounts, to allow you to tune it as you wish. For the Burstbuckers, I found this much more useful in a band environment (especially with more gain) than being able to roll off the tone, as it helps clean up any muddyness. The original PCB will be included, although the potentiometers from it were removed for use in the current wiring. The cavity was also shielded during the electronics change.
The guitar is currently strung up with D'addario XS 11-49
