The SUB SONIC FILTER is a steep high-pass/low-cut filter (36dB/oct) that cuts everything below 30Hz.

Very low frequencies are not heard by humans and are actually undesirable (small children can hear from 16Hz, but adults no longer have such sensitive hearing).

• They shorten the lifespan of speakers (lower frequency = greater diaphragm excursion).
• They consume headroom and amplifier power (lower frequency = more power needed to achieve the same volume level).
• They cause distortion and clipping, as frequencies below 30Hz hold no musical value and only create rumbling.
