Behold! The Modern Vintage Player Stratocaster, or “MVP Strat” for short. It is the latest evolution in our Dealer Select Master Vintage Player Series, built exclusively for Make'n Music in the Fender Custom Shop!!! These special instruments are designed to offer the Ultimate in Tone, Playability and Feel. Each guitar is hand-made to our specs to give the vibe of a classic vintage instrument with all the conveniences of a true modern player's piece. What’s different about the Modern Vintage Player Strat compared to our existing 50’s and 60’s inspired MVP models? Quite simply, we took a more modern approach to this one, incorporating some additional updated features like a 22 fret neck and contour heel, as well as the RSD trem with a pop-in arm, and vintage-locking tuners. It also comes standard with our super cool “2-Step” Headstock design – which features a tiered Tele over Strat motif. This unique design is exclusive to Make’n Music.

Custom Wiring / Tonal Versatility

The pickup and electronics setup in this guitar is designed for maximum tonal versatility! We chose a duet of Vintage 60s Stratocaster pickups in the neck and middle position, to provide all the classic Strat sparkle and chime you could ever need, and paired them with the always reliable and great sounding, Seymour Duncan JB Humbucker in the bridge position. This pickup is extremely versatile and covers all the ground from “hot vintage” PAF, through more modern and higher output type tones. It’s great for a variety of musical styles, and splits well. Access to the unbelievable array of practical and usable sounds – all easily and efficiently selectable – comes from a 5-way Super Switch, wired to a Dual 500k/250K Master Volume control, and a pair of Tone controls (Tone 2 with a Push/Push for HB split).

Built for Comfort and Playability

The Modern Vintage Player Strat looks and plays like a dream thanks to several strategically selected and customized spec upgrades. The body is cut from premium Alder and includes a contour heel for easier access. The “MVP Perfect C” neck profile (.825”-.945”) is custom spec'd by Make'n Music and designed for comfort! It is carved from a single piece of solid Rosewood, for the utmost in tone and stability, as well as a rich look and comfy natural feel. Easier chording, faster leads, and big bends are all made possible thanks to the 1 - 11/16" nut width, 9.5" fingerboard radius, and 6105 fret wire. Adjustments are a breeze too! The Truss Rod is accessible from the headstock, so you no longer have to remove the neck for a tweak. Slick!

Nitrocellulose Lacquer looks, feels and sounds great

This particular guitar also sports a HOT finish!!! The body is NEON GREEN, while our unique, 2-Step headstock sports a stacked, Tele over Strat design and is finished with a matching NEON GREEN accent. The neck back is unfinished for the silky smooth feel of bare wood! Additional features and upgrades include the awesome RSD Trem with Pop-in Arm, and Locking Tuners.
