This is a one of a kind Tobias Signature 5-String with an incredible amount of detailed mother-of-pearl inlay covering the headstock, fretboard, battery plate, back of neck, and around the main body of the bass. As you can see, inlay is mixture of mother of pearl and wood centered around a Bird theme. It’s stunning. Includes OHSC and original strap locks + strap. Message for more details. Mother of pearl (MOP) work was done custom in Louisville KY in the 90’s. While the bass was away from Tobias having the “MOP” work done the company changed hands and this Bass was lost in the shuffle. The bass remained in Lousiville in a private collection until I purchased the instrument Nov 2005. At that time, the instrument had rarely been out of its case since completion. I’ve played it Live and in studio a great deal over the years. It’s a looker and a player!
Gold plating is great shape on the tuners and bridge, knobs are showing some wear. 18v Active System w/ original Bartolini pickups. Original strap locks included. Comes with OHSC, also in great shape.
This is a truly special instrument. It always grabs a lot of attention... equally for its sound and looks.
I’m happy answer serious questions for interested patrons. It’s a special instrument in need of a special home. Listed for Local Pickup only but I’m willing to work with you a little. Located in the Greater Los Angeles area (Altadena CA). Happy to listen to offers. Happy to drive to meet you with instrument.
