Eastman Strings is an American company with its own workshop in Beijing, China. Using well-seasoned, high-quality tonewoods, the company produces guitars, mandolins, violins, violas, cellos, and double basses. With one of the world’s largest stocks of maple for violin-family instruments, Eastman is highly regarded in Japan and throughout Europe.

This is the Lady Moon Signature Octave Mandolin, a flat-top octave mandolin designed for singer-songwriter Lady Moon.

It uses the same note names as a mandolin, but sounds one octave lower. Its pitch sits above that of a mandocello and closer to a guitar range, making it an approachable instrument for guitarists.

Because it is tuned to the same note names as a mandolin, mandolin tunes can be played as written while producing a sound one octave lower. Its deep, dynamic voice also makes solo playing especially enjoyable.

The fingerboard has a radius, and the low string action offers comfortable, stress-free playability even during long sessions.

This is an excellent choice for guitarists who would like to begin playing a new instrument.

*Photos are for reference; wood grain will vary from instrument to instrument.
