Yngwie J. Malmsteen is one of the most influential guitarists in the hard rock and metal scene, regarded as one of the main architects of the neoclassical shred genre. His style, characterized by high execution speed, extreme bending, and a particularly intricate use of vibrato, is inextricably linked to the Stratocaster, an instrument that has accompanied Malmsteen for much of his career.

The Fender Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster is designed to replicate the characteristics of the Swedish guitarist's preferred Stratocaster, integrating a series of specifications developed specifically for his performance needs. The model retains the traditional Stratocaster configuration while introducing distinctive elements aimed at enhancing precision, speed, and control during performances.

The body is crafted from alder, while the maple neck features a Modern "C" profile and a Gloss Nitrocellulose Lacquer finish on the back, designed to provide a smooth surface and facilitate the rapid position changes required by Malmsteen's style.

The fingerboard, with a 9.5” radius and fully "scalloped," is engineered to ensure particularly precise control over bending and vibrato, while the 21 Super Jumbo frets complete the setup focused on maximum comfort.

The electronics consist of three Seymour Duncan YJM Fury pickups, hum-canceling units specifically developed for Malmsteen, capable of delivering a defined and dynamic sound, with a particularly effective response on high-gain distortions.

Completing the specifications are an American Vintage Synchronized Tremolo bridge with six saddles, Fender Vintage “F” Stamped tuning machines, and chrome hardware.
