This is my Roland RE-501 Chorus Echo, and I would describe it as being in EXCELLENT CONDITION — but I am extremely picky when it comes to vintage gear.

Anyway, I honestly believe it would be very difficult to find a better-preserved RE-501.

I bought this machine when I was young and have owned it ever since, always keeping it carefully maintained and in top working condition. I am now gradually selling some of the finest pieces of my collection, simply because of my age and because I feel it is time for them to go to other enthusiasts who will enjoy and take care of them as I have.

The felts have recently been replaced with new green ones from EchoFix. I am also including a green EchoFix capstan as a spare. I used it only for a short time, but since the original capstan still works perfectly, I saw no reason to replace it. Why replace an original part when it is still doing its job so well?

Everything works as it should, provided that a very good-quality tape is used. The RE-501, like all vintage tape echo machines, requires proper care and attention, and tape quality makes a real difference to its performance.

All the original accessories are included, as well as the original first tape box. I will also include a spare tape, although this one is not an original Roland tape.

Given the age, condition and value of this RE-501, inspection and local pickup are strongly preferred. You are very welcome to come, inspect and test the machine personally before taking it home.

Shipping is also possible if necessary, but due to the delicate nature of vintage equipment of this kind, it will be at the buyer’s responsibility and risk.
