Get your kicks with a Vibro Champ from '66! Here in stock is this awesome compact vintage amp, the imitable Fender Vibro Champ. It's been 50 years since the year of Pet Sounds and Revolver and so many influential albums, not to mention the premiere of Star Trek. All of that is still relevant, and this amp is still going strong.
Originally introduced in 1964, the Fender Vibro Champ is a 5-watt, easily portable amp that packs a punch. This version was only built for a few years, (64 - 67), until the new Silverface amps came out. It's based on the original champ, but with a tube tremolo circuit added. It quickly became a favorite of players that wanted classic Fender tone in a small box, and over the years it became studio staple and heard countless recordings.
This amp is definitely one of the coolest small amps Fender ever made. With its unique tremolo circuit (Fender mistakenly called it Vibrato) this is certainly one of the the best sounding vintage Fender amps. The “blackface” Fender Vibro Champ was one of the few amps produced by Fender that its circuit actually remained mostly untouched throughout the years. This is also the first Fender amp to have an effect built right into the amp.
This 1966 Vibro Champ is completely all original, except for the speaker - that was replaced with a Jensen Special Design. The amp is in great condition, especially since it is over 50 years old. It's been vetted and tested to perfect working order.
For anyone looking for an awesome vintage amp, compact and ready to go for any gig, this is a great find.
