Maxon JL-70 Jetlyzer 1970s - Orange
Up for sale is an incredibly rare, investment-grade 1970s Maxon JL-70 Jetlyzer. Produced in Japan between 1975 and 1977, this legendary big-box unit combines a lush, warm analog phaser with a highly dramatic "Jet" frequency-boost distortion circuit to mimic true sweeping jet-plane soundscapes. While many of these heavy-duty 1.2kg chassis units were heavily gigged and battered over the last five decades, this specific piece is in true Collector's Grade condition.
Condition & Optical Appearance
- Cosmetics: Outstanding shape for its age. It shows only minimal, faint surface blemishes and light scratches from careful storage. The original orange finish remains vibrant.
- Originality: 100% all-original parts. The internal vintage analog circuitry, solder joints, knobs, and switches are fully unmolested and factory-original. (internal foam at battery pocket removed and replaced to prevent internal soiling of components, as the original foam was starting to disintegrate!)
Electrical & Technical Functionality
- Operation: Fully tested and operating at 100% peak performance.
- Potentiometers: Fully cleaned and lubricated. Pot controls (Speed, Depth, Mix) sweep smoothly across their full range with absolutely zero crackle, static, or dropouts.
- Audio Quality: Delivers the pure, thick, legendary 70s analog tone with an exceptionally clean signal path.
