It's in "Player's Condition" and still going strong
The Jazz Festival, Radickfs signature snare drum.
Based on the serial number, it is believed to have been manufactured in 1965.
It was Radickfs flagship wood snare drum at the time and embodies the warm, mellow, and full-bodied Radick sound unique to that era.
This particular example appears to be a rare 3-ply maple/poplar/maple construction (though this was common in the late 1960s).
Additionally, the top features what appears to be an original brass hoop, while the bottom has a non-original pressed steel hoop.
Because the top is brass, it has a fat attack and a powerful feel.
Overall, it shows signs of wear commensurate with its age, including discoloration on the head and pitting on the hardware.
However, the sound itself is excellent, and itfs still in good enough condition to be used actively.
Condition Grade: B: Shows significant scratches and signs of wear, but is perfectly suitable for normal use
Serial Number: 228504
Size: 14x5 inches
Year of Manufacture: Circa 1965
Country of Manufacture: USA
Shell: 3-ply + maple reinforcement
