About this listing
A 1988 U.S.-made BIG MUFF Pi featuring a transistor circuit with an EH3034 board. Housed in a large chassis and equipped with a Tone Bypass switch, this unit offers the raw, rugged character characteristic of vintage Electro-Harmonix. It uses an EH3034 board and MPSA18 transistors. It is characterized by a thick low end, intense sustain, and a violent fuzz sound with a slight grit, possessing a presence reminiscent of later alternative and grunge sounds. When the Tone Bypass is ON, the midrange is pushed forward, transforming the tone into a direct character distinct from its normal state. You can enjoy a powerful sound that feels like youfre forcing your way through an amp. Based on the CTS pot date "1378829," this unit appears to have been built around the 29th week of 1988. Details typical of a transitional-era USA Big Muff?such as the EH3034 circuit board, MPSA18 transistors, and mini-jack AC input?add to its appeal. While it shows signs of wear appropriate for its age, the characteristic Big Muff roar and thick fuzz feel remain intact. This is a USA-made Big Muff that goes beyond being just a vintage pedal?itfs a unit whose specifications speak for themselves. The exterior shows significant signs of use overall, including rust, dirt, sticker residue, dents in the housing, mismatched screws, and a missing Volume knob. Note: This is the unit only.
