1981 Ibanez PS10 Paul Stanley Signature Iceman Black, 100% Original w/ Case, KISS

Up for sale, a 1981 Ibanez PS10 Paul Stanley signature Iceman in collector-grade, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Introduced in 1978, this model was Ibanez’s first signature model for the KISS frontman, crafted in Japan at the Fujigen factory and featuring a gloss Black finish accented by mirrored “chrome” plastics and abalone purfling/inlays. Particularly of note, the binding on this example is practically pristine, showing none of the off-gassing that plagues the majority of early production PS10s.

Tonewoods include a mahogany body with a maple top and a rock maple neck capped with a bound 22-fret ebony fretboard. The pair of Ibanez V2 humbuckers were originally designed specifically for this guitar, allegedly based off of DiMarzio Super Distortions. These humbuckers are big and bold, with a midrange bump that translates to huge chords and a liquid, singing quality when soloing. The V2s handle gain notably well, remaining articulate in all positions with great harmonic content. Weighing 9lbs 3oz, this Paul Stanley PS10 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Black finish is framed by mutli-ply abalone purfling, and while the binding shows considerable ambering and a couple small repaired splits, it exhibits none of the off-gassing common with early PS10s. Cosmetic wear is limited to some minor dings and finish scratches on the body, while the gloss on the neck profile is flawless save for one small nick on the bass-side shoulder at the 9th fret.

The original black tolex hardshell case with form fit blue interior is included.
