Gibson Les Paul Custom 20th Anniversary early 1974

This Les Paul is an original Kalamazoo-made rock machine. It has been black-lighted for breaks and touchup, and is totally clean, unbroken and unmessed with.

Serial no: 40 70 00

Weight: 10lb 5oz, 4.7 kg.

Frets: low, fretless-wonder style. Original with nibs. Some life still left. 

Neck: I’d call it a thin C profile. Three piece mahogany (not later maple). Ebony fingerboard

Body: two piece Gibson pancake. Decent top carve profile.

Finish: original Gibson nitro, faded to yellow. No checking.

Hardware: all original. Waffleback tuners, bridge, stoptail, strap buttons, witch hat knobs, nut.

Pickups: original T-Top, patent stickers, with original covers. Looks like original solder on covers.

Electronics: pots date to week 35, 1973. No crackles, all good. All looks untouched.

Plastics: all original TRC, pokerchip, pickguard, pickup rings, jack plate, knobs, back plates. Maybe a question mark on selector switch tip.

Case: original Gibson, 5 catch purple plush lining. All catches work no problem. Vinyl ok, but travelled.

Overall condition: 7 to 8 out of 10. Some minor scratches and bumps that come from ordinary play, but very little for a guitar that is 52 years old! Stoptail is pitted, plating 60% gone. Factory goof rings around stoptail posts.
