1974 Gibson Les Paul Custom 20th Anniversary, originally finished in Alpine White, naturally aged to a cream/yellow color over the past 52 years.Features the 20th Anniversary inlay at the 15th fret, ebony fingerboard, gold hardware and Gibson T-Top humbuckers.Condition: Excellent vintage condition, with natural finish aging, light checking and minimal signs of wear for its age. No known structural repairs or refret. The original pickup covers had been removed before my purchase. I subsequently sourced a matching pair of period-correct 1970s Gibson gold covers, which are included and currently unsoldered. The original pickups remain installed, with no internal modifications known to me. Serial number is very faint and have tried various color shifting to show the first digit.Comes with:Original Gibson hard case (good condition)Pair of period-correct 1970s Gibson gold pickup coversOwnership & Electronics HistoryI purchased this guitar directly from its original owner, who bought it new. He recalled returning the guitar to Gibson for an electronics-related issue, although he could no longer remember exactly what work was performed, other than the problem solved, and the removal of the pickup covers - which have subsequently been lost to time.According to the original owner, no other repairs or modifications were carried out since. This service history may explain some curiosities in the electronics, including sloppier than usual solder work (albeit old) in the control cavity and the absence of 'T' marking on the Neck pickup bobbins, despite the correct Neck pickup baseplate.Original Model Specifications (1974)Body: Solid mahogany with carved maple topFinish: Alpine White, naturally aged to creamNeck: Three-piece mahogany, set neckNeck Profile: Medium rounded profileFingerboard: Bound ebonyInlays: Mother-of-pearl blocks, 20th Anniversary inlay at 15th fretFrets: 22Scale Length: 24.75"Nut Width: Approximately 1.68"Headstock: Gibson split-diamond inlay, multi-ply bindingBridge: Tune-o-maticTailpiece: StopbarTuners: Gold Grover RotomaticsHardware: GoldPickups: Two Gibson T-Top humbuckersElectronics: 2 volume, 2 tone, 3-way selectorWeight: Approximately 4.144kg (kitchen scale)Serial Number: 103302 (stamping partially obscured by finish)Specifications based on historical model references and photographs of this instrument.
