Compared to the Junior, the Special features binding around the rosewood fretboard, a beautiful logo, and… a second pickup. The construction is classic: mahogany body and neck, rosewood fretboard with a 12-inch radius. This particular guitar has undergone several modifications, including pickup replacements, Sprague capacitors, a replaced bridge, a repaired headstock, and the addition and subsequent removal of a Bigsby tremolo. At this time, Gibson was no longer using wraparound bridges but the more practical Tune-O-Matic design. It dates from a period highly valued by Gibson enthusiasts: 1989! Sold with a gig bag.
