This iconic head from 1974 is in great condition for a 51 year old amp and sounds awesome. It has various small snags and tears to the tolex but most of these are on the underside.
It has just been serviced by Dave Wittering at Prestige Amp Servicing, who is an ex-Marshall senior service engineer and is in full working order. The amp is tested and ready to go, free from all the usual problems you get with an old amp that's been collecting dust for years.
The master volume modification has been added where the original power light would have been and the light had been moved over to accommodate for this. The MV is a pre phase invertor type, this has been checked and tested.
Chassis: Original Drake 1202-164 Mains transformer, original Drake 784-139 Output transformer and original choke.
Serviced parts include:
- Mains Bulgin socket - NOS
- V1 & P/I anode resistor
- P/I anode load resistor replaced
- Bias recevoir & Smoothing caps.
- Screen Resistors.
- All pots replaced.
- Speaker output sockets replaced.
- Replaced OEM Marshall ECC83's.
- Set up with Bias to correct spec.
- Chassis Earth fitted.
- PAT Tested.
Pre Amp Valves: Marshall branded ECC83S
Power Valves: Marshall Branded EL34's
Cosmetic: Original head shell, tolex, feet and hardware.
Mains voltage selector - 110v, 120v & 240v - so can be used worldwide.
