Here's an excellent example of some of the finest drum craftsmanship in the modern world. Not only does this drum physically demand attention, but sonically it possesses irrefutable tonal prowess and complexity. Born November 15th, 2016, this drum has not been taken out of it's case or played since it was purchased. It is possible that Johnny Craviotto had a hand in some of the batch from this Private Reserve selection, but unfortunately he passed a few months prior to the completion (may he Rest in Peace.) Instead of JC's signature on the inside the shell, there is the Private Reserve label with Saul, David, Greg, and Eric's signatures indicating that this is in fact an exquisite piece in the Craviotto timeline/history. Something important to note as well is the rarity of wood species. Ambrosia Maple (Wormwood) is often used by a lot of high end instrument builders, as it is aesthetically pleasing and exotic looking. However this particular shell showcases the much more rare curl in the wood (emphasized by the high gloss finish) that builder's often fawn over...and for good reason too! - All that to say, this NOS Craviotto Private Reserve snare drum is an absolute show stopper and will make it's next home very happy.
