The wood used for these side panels is Japanese hinoki.

Hinoki is a wood native to Japan and is known as Japanese cypress outside of Japan.

The Japanese cypress used for these side panels is not the highest grade of wood in order to keep costs down, but the rest of the processing and finishing is done by the best craftsmen, just like the more expensive side panels.

The finish is an organic oil finish followed by a coating of beeswax.

Regarding shipping, due to issues with US customs, the shipping company I previously used is no longer available and shipping costs have increased significantly.
