1966 Mosrite Joe Maphis Double Neck 6/12 Electric Guitar
100% Original, very nice neck and Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard with very low action, frets are original in very good shape, comes in original hard case.
This is the ultimate surf or 1960s electric guitar: a ONE OWNER Joe Maphis Doubleneck Mosrite guitar, which comes with documentation, including a "Franklin Bros. Band" photo from the 1960s, showing the guitar and Rich. The photo and an accompanying letter are signed by the original owner. If you have ever played a Mosrite doubleneck, they can be somewhat inconsistent in quality. This one is a very definite exception--it stays in tune on the 6 or the 12 neck, the string action is incredible, the tremolo bar works great, and the pickups sound fat and clear.
The guitar is fitted with a 12-string neck at the top and a 6-string at the bottom. Each headstock it labeled “M MOSRITE / of California”. The guitar has its original black plastic cover pickups embossed with “Mosrite of California”, Mosrite ‘hat type’ ‘V’ & ‘T’ chrome control knobs numbered 1 through 5, Mosrite individually adjustable saddle bridges and chrome-plated die-cast Moseley ‘Vibrato’ tailpiece unit on the six string and a rosewood/aluminum stop tailpiece for the twelve string. The guitar is all original with an original Sunburst body and neck stock white pickguard.
