Hofner Colorama III 1961 - 1962 - Red

We are very pleased to finally offer this beautiful, vintage Colorama for sale following a comprehensive refurb which included restoration of the fretboard radius, pickup service and rewinding, and a complete refret with medium jumbo frets for a more modern feel and performance. 

Based on information provided by vintagehofner.co.uk, we believe this to be a Colorama III.  These were produced circa 1961-'62 and distributed by Selmer in the UK.  The Colorama III boasts a solid wood body, mahogany set neck, rosewood fingerboard, and six-sided headstock (ours is missing its original truss rod cover).  This is the twin "toaster" pickup model with the standard Höfner control console and a trapeze tailpiece.

It is in excellent condition: the body and finish have aged well, and apart from some very slight sign of use the guitar is virtually unmarked.  This really is a classy-looking vintage guitar with character of sound and tone to match.
