I bought this tricone in 2002 back while I lived in Hawaii. Since I used to play with Bob Brozman I got in touch with National cofounder Don Young who personally helped me to adjust the instrument.
It has the authentic tricone sound of National Guitars and thanks to the adjustments it sounds very clean from typical rattleling noises on resophonic guitars.
They also installed a Highlander pickup. And I include three extra cones Mr. Young gave me to have spares just in case while I was touring.
The model has a hand-engraved wiggle border around the top, back and sides. Mahogany neck, slotted headstock with an engraved Ivoroid overlay, Ivoroid bound Ebony fingerboard with diamond-shaped inlays.
The only possible cons is that the finishing is a little worn-off, especially on the sides. It can be easily polished back to its original mirror look though. It also has a scratch on the heel. It was made a few months after I bought it. I showed it to Brozman and also took it to a professional luthier and it happened to be only superficial. This happened in late 2002. Since then the scratch hasn't shown any signs of getting bigger or deeper which proves it was only superficial.
This is the Tricone National you can hear in all my published works (music albums, DVDs, books, etc). And many of my YouTube videos. I have an album called Mojo Roots Music (you can find it on Spotify, etc) fully recorded with this instrument. Some of its tracks were featured on the National Resophonic Guitars Audio Reso-Artists Catalog.
I am selling it because I don't use it much anymore and I have other similar instruments available.
Shipping cost is estimate. Once I know your location I will double check on shipping prices, chances are it might be lower.
