Here comes my other gem, a 1956 Selmer cornet (serial number 1504), made in Paris, France, and is in absolutely perfect condition. It is gold-plated, but I'm not sure if it's factory-plated. The hand-engraving is visible as if it has never been used. I'm the second owner, it has been in the case for the time being from both the original owner and me. I'll play it once in a while at home, but I never gig with it. You get what you see.
It is easy to play, has really sweet and lovely tones, and has excellent intervals that you get from Selmer horns. It slots nicely and is perfect for jazz or classical. It is equipped with the original first trigger and feels very comfortable in the hand.
The mouthpiece receiver is engraved K-Modified, which means it fits all short mouthpieces with a standard shank cornet mouthpiece on the market.
It has a 4.75-inch one-piece brass bell, and the seam is under the braces between the leadpipe and bell, as is the classic 1965 Bach Stradivarius 180-37 trumpet design. This detail helps to connect the leadpipe and bell better, makes the horn vibrate more evenly, and sings more openly throughout different ranges of the horn.
The widened bell beam is filled with steel wire, it can pill the pain off the wall when needed.
Year of production: 1956
Bore size: 0.457 inches/11.60mm
Bell: 4 3/4 inches/120.65mm
Comes with an original pure leather case, in excellent condition.
Don't miss this excellent, rare horn. I am only selling it because I have too many horns, and it's too lovely to sit around not being loved; I'd let someone like you enjoy this beauty.
The light scratches, dings, and other marks on our listings don't affect playing. You won't find the damaged ones in Brass Ambassador! As you can see from the pictures, we take good care of them. After so many years, they still look stunning. Unfortunately, we have stored them for so long that we've switched to other equipment. So we are ready to let them go to other fellow musicians.
Don't you miss the opportunity! Have fun shopping at Brass Ambassador!
We are some professional brass players and gearheads here at Brass Ambassador. We want to share some of our collections with you out there. All the listings are from our daily use or collection, including some rare pieces in excellent condition, as you can see (we DO take care of them). Being gearheads, buying and selling usually is what ends up, so finding some other homes for them is ideal for us, rather than sitting on the shelf and collecting dust. We will try our best to describe each piece; some have stories, too. We take all the pictures with as many details as possible, trying to be honest and genuine.
