Up for sale, a 1980's Charvel by Jackson Model 1 electric guitar in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Made at the Chu Shin factory in Japan as part of a licensing agreement between IMC and Charvel/Jackson, the Model 1 is a pure, no-frills Super Strat with a single Jackson 90C humbucker, single Volume knob, and Gotoh-made "Vintage Tremolo." Featuring a quartersawn maple neck and basswood body, the sound is immediate, clear, and the perfect acoustic platform for the high gain crunch of the 90C ceramic magnet humbucker. Weighing 7lbs 9oz, this Charvel has been professionally setup here at Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, spot-on intonation, and fast action.
The quatersawn rock maple neck has a slender and fast-feeling D shaped profile with lots of shoulder, measuring .775” deep at the 1st fret and .920” at the 12th. The thick slab maple fretboard has a compound 12-16" radius and features dot inlays and the original jumbo fretwire. The frets retain their full factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing just a touch of wear on the crowns beneath the plain strings on frets 1-5, fretting cleanly in every register. The scale length measures 25 1/2“, and the nut measures 1 5/8” in width. On the black headstock, the original black Jackson-branded Gotoh-made tuners are present and turn smoothly.
The electronics work as they should, with a single Volume knob coupled to the Jackson humbucker. The vibrant Red gloss finish shows only a few faint finish scratches on the back and light scuffing on the treble side of pick path. The neck profile is flawless.
A gigbag is included.
