This guitar effects pedal is a solid-state distortion and overdrive unit developed as the direct successor to the original 1980s Guv'nor circuit. Designed to emulate the high-gain crunch and saturated tone of a classic cranked amplifier, it expands upon its predecessor's architecture by including a wider gain structure and comprehensive tone-shaping controls. The layout utilizes dual-concentric potentiometers to provide a three-band equalizer alongside a dedicated lower-mid frequency control. This control allows musicians to manipulate lower-mid range resonance to replicate the low-end thump of a traditional speaker cabinet. The circuit features hard-clipping diodes and an internal operational amplifier to deliver classic rock and blues tones, housed inside a robust metal casing with a passive bypass path.
