Up for sale is a stunning, meticulously crafted M5-F Black Top F-Style mandolin. Designed by legendary luthier Dana Bourgeois, this instrument brings bouquet acoustic guitar building brilliance into a mandolin world.
This Mint condition, never used, model features a fully torrefied construction, pairing an aged tone Adirondack spruce top with a deeply blamed European maple back and sides. It is ivory inlay edged. The gloss black top provides a striking visual contrast against the beautiful translucent cordovan red stain on the back, highlighting, a tight, gorgeous flame pattern.
The M5-F represents a contemporary take on a golden air classic. This fully-torrefied instrument pairs an “ aged tone” Adirondack spruce top with, smoldering European flamed, maple back and sizes under a stunning cordovan red stain finish. Has a custom Bill James tailpiece. Equipped with high-end custom hardware and built for premium responsiveness and a rich, tonal complexity.
Tonally, it delivers a massive chop, excellent projection, and a rich mature, Woody voice that sounds like a vintage instrument right out of the box. It plays smoothly up and down the radius Ebony fingerboard with comfortable low action.
Equipped with premium custom hardware from the factory, including Waverly golden age, tuners, and an engraved bill James tailpiece.
It includes an original loar- style rectangular hardshell case with green crushed velvet interior and a humidifier built into the case.
