JOYO audio's JF-17 Extreme Metal has a modern design with diverse features. Most pedals offer a single "Tone" knob. Instead the JF-17 offers three independent EQ controls, allowing you to achieve metal, rock and punk sounds. It's three band EQ with sweep Mid-Freq Knob provides a strong low frequency and a clear and transparent high frequency.The gain from this pedal sounds like a buzz-saw at moments.. in others (mid gain) an overdriven tube amplifier that still retains definition (ala pride and joy) and when the mids are tweaked just right, you get the ska / soul / punk vibe that not too many distortion pedals are capable of! The pedals main forte is metal, obviously! But the pre and post gain stages offer variability that does not put this FX pedal in a single category.
