It features a maple top with a beautiful Rainbow Holoflake color finish and a mahogany back with a 24-fret mahogany neck with a 25-inch scale length, fitted with a rosewood fingerboard.

The Custom 24 is equipped with PRS DMO treble and bass pickups with volume and tone controls and a 5-position switch.

DMO (Dynamic, Musical, Open) pickups were personally designed by Paul Reed Smith and the PRS New Products Engineering team. “From our own field research into sought-after vintage pickup models to advancements in signal analysis and 'stem' technology, these pickups incorporate every detail of the pickup knowledge PRS has gained in R&D over the past few years.”

PRS DMO pickups have a "wide open" sound with a vocal character, meaning they deliver a clear and pleasant sound. Each pickup produces a wide range of frequencies (from bass to treble).

Pattern Thin neck profile

This Custom 24 features an inset mahogany neck with the PRS-loved Pattern Thin profile. The Pattern Thin profile is a modern version of the traditional Wide Thin neck. The nut is comfortably wide and fits perfectly in the palm of your hand when playing on the first frets. As you play further up, you will notice how the neck widens while the thickness remains the same. In fact, the thickness of the Pattern Thin increases by only about a millimeter from the first to the twelfth fret – now that is consistency!
