Up for sale, a 2020 Seeker Electric Effects Tonebender MKII in mint condition, complete with the original box and paperwork. Handcrafted in Ventura County, California, this Tonebender is a faithful recreation of the legendary original ‘60s Tone Bender MKII. Designed by Gary Hurst, that iconic effect is most famously associated with Jimmy Page, who received one just prior to the recording of Led Zeppelin 1. It’s an immediately recognizable fuzz tone, with ample aggressive bite and headroom, ranging from thin buzzsaw sizzle to churning, bass-rich destruction with a turn of the Attack knob.
This iteration by Seeker features a trio of NOS Mullard OC42 germanium transistors, with NOS capacitors and carbon film resistors. Wired by hand, this Seeker Tonebender has the same streamlined controls as the original, with Volume and Fuzz knobs, along with an On/Off switch to conserve battery life.
This is a well-kept example, with no wear on the gray hammerite enclosure. The inside of the baseplate is signed by Seeker’s Mike Timpson and dated 3/12/20.
The original box is included, along with the candy.
