Not Functioning 1977 DiMarzio DP104 Super II with double black bobbins and 2 conductor + ground lead wire.

Both bobbins of this pickup read open. I have tested continuity from the end of the lead wire to each wire inside the pickup, and none are open, so if there is a break, it's either in the pickup wind itself (the copper coil around the bobbin), or possibly at the wire the connects the coil wire to the lead wire (which is common).

This was removed from the neck of a 1977 Aria LC-800 (Japanese Les Paul), which was original to that guitar, which is how I know the age of it.

This era features short square legs, 3 holes on the bobbins, 2 wire + shielded lead wires.

I have Super II's installed in a few of my guitars, and they're fantastic - they work well for all genres. They have a lot of output - like A LOT - as much as a Super Distortion, but they have a lot less bass, and much more mids and high's, making them great for lower tunings (in my opinion).

I like them in both positions, and they can work for either bridge or neck position.

As far as I know, the Super II and the Super Distortion are essentially the same EXCEPT for the the number of turns around the bobbin. So if you rewind them, you could easily return these back to a Super II or Super Distortion.

Pole spacing measures around 48mm.

The black lead wire is about 14".

The black bobbins do have some typical scuffs and scratches on them.

The pole pieces have some minor corrosion, tarnish and rust on them.

It has natural play wear on it - it won't look out of place in a vintage guitar.

It does not come with any springs or screws.
