Master Effects Vulgar Randall RG100 Preamp Pedal
NOTE this pedal can take 7-10 days to ship. all parts are in stock - just need to assemble.
The Master Effects Vulgar is based on the preamp from the Randall RG100 solid state amplifier famously used by Dimebag Darrel.
We took the original circuit in the RG100 and adapted it to work with modern components. We also went and took a look at the Randall Century and realized that the preamp section is EXACTLY the same except for two things: the mid boost switch (which just adds a capacitor in the tone stack to put more emphasis on the mid frequencies) and also a bit of extra circuitry so fix the issue of the RG100 losing a lot of volume when the sustain switch is enabled.
All of this in a compact 125B enclosure with top mounted jacks.
The pedal uses a standard boss-style 9V power supply. There is internal circuitry to generate a 24V power supply, just like the original amplifiers used.
Controls include: Master, Presence, Gain, Bass, Middle, and Treble and a sustain switch.
The sustain switch adds in some extra diode clipping to increase the saturation of the distortion.
You can run this pedal in front of your clean amp like a distortion pedal or you can plug it into the FX loop return of your amp or a dedicated power amp to have it act like the preamp.
