For many years after 1960 no Les Paul Doublecut guitars were produced by Gibson, and when Gibson did start making doublecut Les Pauls again, they were re-issues closely following the original Les Paul Special flat-top (no carved maple cap) design, with P-90 pickups rather than humbucker pickups.

In the interim, during the 1970s, a small boutique USA guitar producer, Hamer, began making both flat-top and carved-top doublecutaway guitars very similar to the then-dormant Gibson designs. These Hamer versions of doublecutaway Les Pauls got widespread publicity for their use by the members of the rock band Cheap Trick and others. This is the reissue of Gibson's classic 1960 design.

Mahogany body with Mahogany neck with a medium “C” profile, 1 11/16” wide nut, rosewood fretboard, 12” radius, and dot inlays. Original hardware, two P-90s, three-way pickup selector switch and independent volume and tone controls.

The top of this guitar is looking good with a couple small dings from light wear. The sides have some very light wear along the edges and the back is in great shape. The neck is nice and smooth and the headstock is clean with some wear around the edges. 

This Les Paul is a double-cut above the rest! The strings are nice and low, play great, and ring out clearly across the board. Weight is 7lbs 2oz
