This is a beautiful example of a Bb clarinet made in the USA during the heyday of band instrument manufacture in the USA. Serial number 137XXX places the date of manufacture to the 1970's to 1980's. This Selmer Signet 100 is made from choice tight grained grenadilla wood and has nickel plated keys. Mechanically excellent condition. No wear to the keys or mechanism. No cracks or repaired cracks. This clarinet has just been overhauled with double skin Buffet style silicon treated pads which are water resistant and will last longer than regular pads and all new corks. Metal ring on the lower tenon. Plays up to pitch at A=440 with a rich resonant tone. These clarinets made employ strong solid keys and mechanisms and hold their adjustments far better than modern instruments. This model has post springs on the G# and A key,s a feature shared with many of the higher priced models. This fabulous playing instrument comes with a replacement case in mint condition, a mouthpiece, cork grease, drop through swab and some reeds (not shown).
