When Höfner created this bass in the early 60's, they did not copy other successful basses of the time, but created a new instrument with a unique sound and feel. When Paul McCartney decided to use this model with The Beatles, it went straight into history.
With the current offer of active multistring basses, the Höfner Violin Bass once again stands out from the rest, with it's trademark watm sound and short sustain that fits so well in so many different styles, from Brit pop to Indie, Rock, Pop and Electronic music (it really mixes well with drum loops).
This bass is made in the same factory in Germany where the old models were made, and we are happy to report that attention to detail is still fabulous.
