This Lab Systems VP400 with matching EV410 is owned by Chris Joannou of Silverchair.

The Lab Systems VP400 is an integrated valve preamp and mosfet power amplifier that has been specifically developed for the discerning bass player that requires the ultimate in pure valve amplification with none of the inherent reliability problems and high running costs generally associated with high power valve bass amplification. Lab Systems have achieved this goal by combining a full valve preamplifier with their legendary 400 watt mosfet power amplifier module to produce a two rack space package weighing in at a mere ten kilo's that packs the punch and tonality of a valve amplifier more than four times it's size and weight.

Furthermore, their unique enhancement circuitry made it possible to achieve a harmonic warmth and almost singing quality in bass sound that they believe is unavailable in any other amplifier on the market.

This was the first big equipment purchase for Chris dating back to when Frogstomp was released.
