Patrick James Eggle 96 Drop Top

purchased brand new 2 weeks ago and was just delivered to my house last week (10/6/2026)

Really beautiful and finely crafted PJE Droptop 96.

as you know, sounds fantastic and plays fantastic.

Stunning top and gorgeous roasted swamp ash body is on display on the back.

one of my favorite builders. stands a cut above most Suhr, Anderson, PRS, and fender custom shop imho.

on par with private stock and master built guitars just at the dealer level.

I have several PJE’a (including Droptop’s) with the soft v neck and love them. This one for some reason doesn’t have the edges rolled as I’m used to. (Perhaps a more modern neck feel rather than a vintage one?) it’s causing me thumb cramps because of my personal playing style. I tried to power through it for a few days but only made the thumb pain more intense.

I had a friend come over to play it, and he absolutely loved the feel of the neck and fretboard edges! So, I guess it’s just personal preferences.

As far as PJE’s soft v necks go, this one feels a touch slimmer or less full than my other 3 96’s and my Oz T.

I’d rather not start making even subtle changes like rolling the edges on a master piece such as this, so that’s why I am selling.
