This is a classic preamp/DI. It's a favorite item for various bassists, sometimes used as an amp simulator, sometimes as a drive pedal that produces a thick, punchy distortion, and sometimes as a direct box tool that reproduces a robust bass sound at line level. It is equipped with variable controls for the important sound characteristics of presence, drive, blend, and level, and the EQ control allows you to shape sounds from tight, clean tones to loud, distorted overdrive sounds.

Many people appreciate the unique distortion and sonic image of this older model, which has a distinctly analog feel. While this particular unit is from an earlier era without LINE/INST OUTPUT and LINE/INST XLR switches, it still delivers excellent performance as a foot pedal.

Specifications
INPUT: This is a jack for instrument input.
PARALLEL OUTPUT: An output directly connected from the input jack. Used when connecting to an amplifier or signal processor on stage.
FOOT SWITCH: Turns the SansAmp's amp emulator circuit on/off. The LED lights up when the amp emulator circuit is active. Tone and gain are determined by the control settings and output from the XLR and phone outputs. The LED does not light up when bypassed. In this state, the [BASS DRIVER DI] functions as a normal direct box.
BALANCED XLR OUTPUT: This is a low-impedance balanced output. The ACTIVE XLR SWITCH can be switched on or off to output either the sound that has passed through the SansAmp circuit or the original sound with impedance conversion.
PHANTOM & GROUND CONNECT SWITCH: This switch connects or lifts the ground of the SansAmp BASS DI. When the switch is pressed, the ground is connected, and power is supplied to the bass DI via phantom power.
