Just In: J. Rockett's HRM V2 Is a New Dumble-in-a-Pedal

Buying a Dumble amp will set you back a pretty penny. (This one that just sold on Reverb as part of the Dennis Herring The Official Dennis Herring Reverb Techno Empire Shop went for $239,000.)

But for a fraction of that price, you can get the tone of the famous amps—along with the sound and feel of one of their most famous mods—in the J. Rockett HRM V2.

According to J. Rockett, "the HRM V2 is designed to achieve the overdriven sounds of a D-style amp with the HRM EQ mod." HRM—short for "hot rubber monkey"—is famed for adding a throaty, low-mid boost alongside the beloved responsiveness and sensitivity that Dumble amps are known for.

HRM V2

The folks at J. Rockett achieved this by playing an HRM-modded Dumble for two full years, taking the time to dial in their circuit until its tone and responsiveness matched the amps.

As a "happy accident," they say the HRM V2 can also "achieve some of THE best Tube Screamer sounds you could ask for, with more control over the EQ."

All this for $229, or, put another way, less than 1/1000th of the price of Dennis Herring's Dumble.
