About this listing
1973 Traynor Bassmaster MK II 80 Watt amplifier head. Hand-wired, all tube vintage amplifier in excellent condition. Massive Hammond transformers. Upgraded in 2024 by local amp shop with new filter, bias, and coupling capacitors. 2 EL 34 Power Tubes and 3 12 AX7 preamp tubes provide a very rich, clean loud tone typical of vintage tube amps. I ran my JHS tube screamer and Strymon pedal board set up through it and it sounded as good as my Mesa Boogie set up. If I didn't already have five other tube amps, I would definitely keep this amp head. It sounds so loud and clean. It does have the low sounding 60 cycle hum typical with these amps. I don't hear it at all when I'm playing. I hear this type of cycle hum with my Mesa Boogie heads as well. I made a YouTube video you can click on at the bottom right of this listing to judge for yourself and see how great this amp sounds. The amp is cosmetically in really great shape as you can see from the photos. There are no tears in the vinyl covering. The weight is 47 lbs. I had a guy come by to buy one of my Mesa Boogie speaker cabs and we played the Traynor amp head through it. He wanted to buy this Traynor Bassmaster amp head so bad but didn't have the cash. I could say so much more about this classic amp. However, if you are viewing this listing and are interested in purchasing this amp, you likely already know a lot about it. Yes, my listing price includes free shipping in the U.S. I will lower the price for local pick up. Please see the YouTube video on this listing below to hear how great it sounds. A great amp at a great price!
