Vintage Aria LW-15
Dreadnought acoustic guitar
Made in Japan Matsumoko
Dated 1987 04.28.87 serial
Nice clean label
Fantastic neck, feels very long great craft & low action
Truss rod at the soundhole works.
Upgraded flush fitted bone nut
☆
Saddle is aluminium (bit odd) which I didn't fit myself but it sounds great.
I can fit a bone one if you prefer please let me know.
I went with "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mindset.
☆
Beautiful tulip carved rosewood headstock
☆
Laminate spruce top but high quality veneers and the guitar is of excellent craft.
☆
Strait neck with action set at 2.85mm at the 14th.
☆
Beautiful resonant tone
No cracks or structural issues
Flat soundoard & secure solid bridge
Original tuners are nice quality have been serviced and work well.
☆
Set up.with D'addario Bronze phosphate lights.
The guitar comes with extra roomy good quality large Stagg padded bag.
Stand out ding on the lower bout to note which I sanded smooth.
Back and sides are very nice condition with no stand out marks or damage.
☆
There was quite a deep dink on the neck that I sanded out smooth leaving a road worn faded smooth patch but the neck feels fast and smoother as a result.
☆
I like striping back the gloss on these to a thinner velocity.
☆
Some fading to the bridge Which is not real ebony just a stained "ebonized" hardwood.
☆
Fretboard has been stripped cleaned, hydrated and treated with lemon oil.
☆
Frets have been lightly leveled and all polished so despite a few cosmetic flaws this is a really fantastic guitar worth serious consideration from a great period of guitar making at Matsomoko factory in Japan.
☆
will be sent well packed in a rather large box.
