The Atkin Essential 00-12s is a small-bodied guitar with a much bigger voice than its size would suggest.

Built around a comfortable 00 body with a 12-fret neck joint, this guitar has a warm, open and intimate character that makes it incredibly rewarding to play. It feels light in the hands, quick to respond, and full of that dry, woody tone that makes a great small-body acoustic so addictive.

The Essential Series is all about pure Atkin tone without unnecessary decoration. This 00-12s keeps the look simple, clean and vintage-inspired, while still delivering the craftsmanship, response and musicality that Atkin guitars are known for.

This guitar features a Baked Sitka Spruce top paired with Mahogany back and sides. The baked top gives the guitar an open, responsive and played-in feel from day one, while the mahogany adds warmth, dryness, clarity and a strong fundamental note.

The 12-fret design places the bridge slightly deeper into the lower bout, helping the guitar produce a fuller, rounder and more resonant voice than many players expect from a 00-size instrument. It has a beautiful balance between sweetness and power: soft enough for delicate fingerstyle, but with enough body and projection for blues, folk, light strumming and singer-songwriter work.

The 1 3/4” nut width gives the left hand a little extra room, making this a particularly comfortable choice for fingerstyle players. The shorter 24 7/8” scale length gives the strings a softer feel under the fingers, making bends, vibrato and expressive playing feel natural and relaxed.

Tonally, this Essential 00-12s is warm, clear and immediate. It has a dry mahogany midrange, a sweet top-end response and a surprisingly full low end for its size. It is the kind of guitar that encourages you to sit down, play quietly, write songs and keep playing longer than you planned.
